Business Development Director

Eugene Yap
Eugene graduated with a professional accountancy qualification, ACCA at the age of 20. He started his career with KPMG auditing briefly, before joining HSBC Management Trainee program in 2015.
He was with HSBC for 8 years, majority of which was dedicated to serving MNCs from China who have operations in Malaysia.
In his time in banking, Eugene realized through his interaction with clients and colleagues alike, although they all work hard for the company; not many are savvy about their own personal finance, be it either due to constraints of time or awareness.
There’re 80,000 life insurance agents and 60,000 unit trust consultants in Malaysia, but there are only less than 2,000 financial advisors. Whereas in developed countries, the ratio is the other way round. There is a huge gap in the market for financial advisors who can advise clients on their financial welfare independently and holistically.
Eugene hopes to play a part in growing the Financial Advisory (FA) industry in Malaysia. His goal is to attract like-minded advisors as a means to make Financial Planning more accessible to the people of Malaysia.
