Founded in December 2009, I-MAX FINANCIAL is a financial planning firm licensed by Securities Commission (SC) and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM). We are a team of financial advisers, striving to assist our clients to meet their financial needs and goals by equipping them with the right type of financial services and products. I-MAX FINANCIAL offers client-centric advice and provides diverse solutions to clients in the area of investment management, individual and corporate risk management services.

Ivy Yee, B.Econs (Hons), CFP, RFP & I-Max Financial Founder
Ivy, an Economics graduate from the University of Malaya and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), is licensed by Bank Negara Malaysia and the Securities Commission to practise financial planning in Malaysia. She began her career with one of the largest Japanese multinational corporations as a management trainee and rose to the role of Head of Marketing.
After 13 years in the corporate sector, she chose to build her own business and joined ING Insurance, where she learnt agency sales and management. During her tenure, she achieved three consecutive MDRT awards and developed a team of MDRT achievers.
Recognising the need to serve clients beyond insurance, Ivy founded I-MAX Financial Sdn Bhd in December 2009. She is known for her ability to simplify complex financial concepts into clear, actionable strategies tailored to clients’ needs. She has also conducted seminars on Corporate Benefit Solutions and retirement planning for organisations including PETRONAS, Hewlett-Packard, Colgate-Palmolive, the Malaysia Private Dentists Association, and others.
Ivy hopes to see the financial advisory industry in Malaysia grow to match developed markets such as Singapore and Australia, where the number of Financial Advisers is significantly higher. For example, in Australia, Financial Advisers make up 64% of the market compared to 36% Tied Agents; in Singapore, 33% are Financial Advisers and 67% are Tied Agents. In contrast, Malaysia has only 2% Financial Advisers and 98% Tied Agents. The runway for growth is enormous.

Yap Eugene, Business Development Director
Eugene graduated with the ACCA professional accountancy qualification at the age of 20. He began his career with KPMG in audit before joining HSBC in 2015.
Over his eight years with HSBC, Eugene served China-based multinational corporations operating in Malaysia. Through working closely with clients and his professional network, he realised that while many professionals excel in their careers, few feel truly confident in managing their personal finances. Many seek peace of mind and financial security and are looking for someone who can guide them—especially when it comes to preparing for retirement.
In 2022, Eugene transitioned from commercial banking into the financial advisory space. He now works with clients to design their ideal retirement roadmap, focusing on time-tested investment strategies to help them manage and grow their retirement assets effectively.
The key difference between Financial Advisers and Tied Agents is that Tied Agents are restricted to the products of a single insurer. Clients are often curious about product comparisons and specific benefits; therefore, Eugene is committed to building a business model that delivers win-win outcomes for both clients and advisers. He aims to offer clients a broader range of financial solutions while promoting this profession to more like-minded talents to join him in advancing this mission together.

Johan Adam Jurohni, MBA, CFP
Johan holds an MBA in Human Resources from Wales (UK) and is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
He began his career in accounting before moving into human resources, where he served as an HR Manager for 15 years across various organisations. In 1998, he joined AIA Bhd as an insurance agent and progressed to Agency Manager over a 16-year tenure. Seeking a broader advisory capacity beyond insurance, Johan transitioned into financial planning and joined I-MAX Financial in 2013.
As a Financial Adviser, Johan leverages the independence of the FA platform to recommend solutions that genuinely align with each client’s needs. He is committed to holistic financial planning, ensuring a comprehensive assessment is completed before any product is implemented.
